Who needs a manufactured housing installer dealer bond?
Any person or entity engaged in the business of installing a manufactured home or mobile home at the site where it is to be used for occupancy in the state of New Mexico is required to obtain a manufactured home installer bond to be in compliance with Section 14.12.4.1 et seq. of New Mexico Code.
From the New Mexico Manufactured Housing Division:
"All installers of manufactured homes are required to obtain either one or all of three installer licenses. Manufactured Housing Division Installer License (MHD-1) allows an installer to block, level, connect sewer and water, and install permanent or alternative foundations. Manufactured Housing Division Installer License (MHD-2) allows an installer to perform all MHD-1 functions, in addition to working on alternations and modifications on a manufactured home. Manufactured Housing Division Installer License (MHD-3) allows an installer to perform all functions of the MHD-1 and MHD-2, along with the service and repair of natural gas piping and appliances, change and adjust orifices in a manufactured home prior to connection to L.P. gas, and to service and repair plumbing and electrical systems."
What is the manufactured housing installer bond?
The manufactured housing installer bond protects the party requesting the surety bond, the Obligee, against any financial losses as a result of poor financial choices, damages, unethical decisions, or a failure to adhere to state and local laws on the part of you, the Principal. By obtaining your bond, you are telling the Obligee that you can be trusted and that you stand by your business decisions.
